DIY Crochet Heart And Aqua Rose

Decorate your bedroom or office with these darling aqua colored puff crochet hearts and roses. You can add them to beaded chains or ribbons to hang them for prominent display.  A little aqua colored yarn, poly stuffing and 3.5mm hook and you can make these fast! Here are the easy steps to making both:

Heart:

• Row 1: Start by making a circle with 3 SC.
• Row 2: 2 SC in each SC for a total of 6 SC.
• Row 3: 1 SC in each SC for a total of SC.
• Row 4: 2 SC in each SC for a total of 12 SC.
• Row 5: 1 SC in each SC for a total of 12 SC.
• Row 6: 2 SC in the first SC, 1 SC in next SC, repeat this 5 more times for a total of 18 SC.
• Row 7: 1 SC in each SC for a total of 18 SC.
• Row 8: 1 SC in each SC for a total of 18 SC.
• Row 9: 2 SC in the first SC, 1 SC in the next 2 SC, repeat 5 more times for a total of 24 SC.
• Row 10: 1 SC in each SC for a total of 24 SC.
• Row 11: SC2TOG (decrease), 1 SC in the next 4 SC, repeat 3 more times for a total of 20 SC.

First heart lobe:

• Row 12: Begin adding SC in 11th ST from the hook, SC in each remaining SC for a total of 10 SC.
• Row 13: 1 SC in each SC for a total of 10 SC.
• Row 14: SC2TOG(decrease) 5 times for a total of 5 SC. Tie off the yarn, weave it and pull the opening shut. Fill with poly material.

Second heart lobe:

• Row 1: SL ST yarn onto your hook, SC into the ST closest to the first lobe. SC for the remaining 10 STs
• Row 2: SC in each SC for a total of 10 SC.
• Row 3: SC2TOG(decrease) 5 times for a total of 5 SC. Tie off the yarn, weave the ends and pull the opening shut. You’ll have to use the hook to push the stuffing up into the lobes. Weave the loose ends and trim it up nice.

Rose: Start by CH 46

• Row 1: SC in 2nd CH from the hook and in each CH across for a total of 45 STs.  CH 1, turn.
• Row 2: SC in the first ST,( ignore the next ST, DC, CH 1, DC, CH 1, DC, CH 1, DC in next ST, ignore next ST, SC in the next ST) repeat the bracketed portion 11 times. Secure it and make sure to leave a long enough tail of yarn to stitch the rose together.

Lay the completed length out. The top will be wavy and the bottom straight. Begin rolling it up at the end opposite of the long tail of yarn, making sure that the flat end stays flat. Place the end of the tail of yarn through a yarn needle. Run it through the flat edges, going all the way through. Move the rose and bring the needle and yarn through the bottom. Fasten it off and weave both ends through the rose to hide them.
