Crochet SummerTunic Dress

Another week, another amazing idea I feel compelled to share inside a humble blog posts. It is just a blog post since I bearely dare to start such a beautiful project with a 7 months' old on my hands.

Still since I found this tutorial on liveinternet.ru I cannot stop thinking about it.

I have a thing for tunics and dresses as crochet art goes and I am especially fond of patterns I can easily follow visually and adapt to my figure which is not exactly thin :)

However as you will see below, the pattern is easy to handle by increasing with the help of a supplementary number of double crochet stitches.

Make sure you measure yourself before you start.

The yoke and how to start the increase

the tear shape yoke - 7 rows completed

How to conect frot to back
Front - close up look

Back closeup look

Yoke chart manually written ( sorry for the picture quality)

Chart detail (yoke and middle section -waist - basic pattern)

Chart detail - Increasing the number of stitches fron waist down

Another version of increase in case you want to make it into a dress

How to count depending on your size

Crochet day bag

Size: w: 35 cm (13¾ in), h: 25 cm (10 in)

Hook: 4.5 mm (G/6)

Materials:
Debbie Bliss ‘Eco Baby’ cotton yarn
Zip (30 cm/12 in)- choose one which opens on both ends when unzipped
Fabric for lining
Straps, fabric tape

Method

Chain 100, join ring with a double (single) crochet stitch. Continue working a dc (sc) in every stitch in a spiral. Work a total of 50 rows. Cut yarn and weave in ends.
Sew the bottom of the bag closed stitch by stitch.
Step 1
Position the bag so that the seam is centred. Measure and mark a 10-cm (4-in)line across the corner of the base.
Step 2
Sew a seam across each corner using backstitch.
Step 3
The bottom of the bag is finished. The corner seams make the bag roomy inside.
Step 4
Measure the inside height and width of the bag and cut the lining to fit, including a seam allowance. Sew side seams and 10-cm (4-in) corner cross seams into the lining.
Step 5
Sew the zip (zipper) into the top of the bag, by machine or by hand.
Step 6
Sew small zip loops made of fabric tape to the top of the bag. Turn the lining under at the top for a seam allowance and hand sew the lining to the inside of the bag.
Step 7
Mark strap locations and sew straps to bag.
Step 8
Attach a label made with fabric tape to the front of the bag.
Step 9
Your bag is complete

Accentuated increases: In relevant rnds w 1. and last dc of every 1/8 th of ring by working 2 dcs into dcs of previous rnd. See also 3. - 5. rnd in crochet chart.
